Meet the Staff

Professors

The teaching staff of GLI Boulder is truly one of a kind. Global Issues in Leadership will be taught by Dr. Heather McDougall. Heather was the founder of the Global Institute for Leadership and Civic Development and has run the Prague program for the last 8 years. With her extensive background in international academia and leadership, Heather will undoubtedly be a priceless asset to the program and the scholars.

The Change the World class will be taught by the director and founder of Transformative Action, Dr. Scott Sherman. Besides being the author of several books, Scott is a leader in social change and social movements.

Co-Directors

GLI Boulder is brought to you by two former participants and coordinators of the Prague program. Both Mike Forte and Daniel Epstein are currently assistant directors of Global Programs for the President's Leadership Class and both have extensive experience in international travel, international teaching, and both domestic and global training in leadership. After coordinating the 2006 Prague program Mike and Daniel realized that there was an unmet need; It was time for a North American program. One where students from around the world came to the United States, learned about what is means to be an American, learned about American policy, diplomacy, and leadership. Furthermore, Mike and Dan realized that GLI Boulder would provide American students with the unique experience of serving as an ambassador to international student leaders in their own country. A dream developed three years ago, in 2008 GLI Boulder will become a reality.
